The Insta360 GO Ultra is a brilliant little camera, but like every tiny camera, it eventually hits the same wall: the battery. The standalone camera lasts about 200 minutes of recording, which sounds generous until you’re halfway through a theme park day or a long hike and it taps out right before the good part.
That’s the exact problem the GO Ultra FOMO Power Kit solves. I’ve been using it for a while now, and while it isn’t perfect, it genuinely changes how I shoot with this camera.

The FOMO Power Kit is a two-piece bundle, and both pieces earn their place.
FOMO Power Neck Mount. This is the centerpiece. It’s a lightweight, ergonomic neck-worn mount with a built-in 4,800mAh battery, so it doubles as a wearable power bank. It also has a foldable back stand with 90 degrees of adjustment, so you can set the camera down at an angle instead of being stuck with one position.
Used together, the two pieces turn the GO Ultra into a hands-free, continuously powered POV rig. Pair that with Pre-Recording Mode, and the camera is effectively always ready, capturing footage from before you actually hit the record button.
Battery Life
This is the headline feature and the main reason to buy the kit.
The neck mount’s 4,800mAh cell charges the GO Ultra while you’re filming, so you don’t have to stop and swap. Insta360 rates the combination at up to 8 hours of shooting time, which is roughly two and a half times what the camera manages on its own.
Worth reading the fine print, though: that 8-hour figure comes from lab testing at 77°F with Wi-Fi and the screen off, Endurance Mode enabled, and recording at 4K30. Crank the resolution, keep Wi-Fi on, or shoot in heat and you’ll land somewhere south of that. Even so, the real-world gain is substantial. I stopped thinking about battery level entirely, which is the whole point.
The Flexi Mount’s cooling-focused design also deserves credit. Recording while charging is exactly the scenario that cooks small cameras, and the airflow-oriented build keeps things manageable.
Price
The FOMO Power Kit lists at $99.99, and Insta360’s own store has run it as low as $89.99 during promotions. UK buyers are looking at around £95, and European pricing sits in the €109 to €115 range depending on the retailer. It’s available directly from Insta360, as well as from Best Buy and Amazon.
For context, the FOMO Power Neck Mount sold on its own runs close to the price of the full kit in some regions, so if you want both pieces, the bundle is the sensible way to buy.
What I Liked
The battery extension is a real quality-of-life upgrade. Going from a camera you have to ration to one you can leave running is a genuine change in how you shoot. If you’ve ever missed a moment because you were charging, this fixes it.
POV recording is where it shines. The neck mount puts the camera exactly where first-person footage wants it, and it’s hands-free. Biking, cooking, walking in a city, working on a project- it all comes out looking natural instead of like you were holding a camera the whole time.
What I Didn’t Like
It isn’t waterproof. The GO Ultra is waterproof, but the mount isn’t water-resistant. Don’t wear this in the rain, and don’t take it anywhere it’s going to get soaked. That’s a real limitation on an accessory built for outdoor activity, and it’s the thing I most wish Insta360 had solved.
White only, and white is loud. There’s no black option. A bright white device hanging around your neck attracts attention in a way a black one simply doesn’t. If you’re trying to film discreetly in public, or you just don’t want to look like you’re wearing a piece of consumer tech as a necklace, the color choice works against you. White also shows dirt and scuffs faster.
It’s expensive. A hundred dollars for a mount and a battery is steep, especially on top of what the camera already costs. It’s justifiable if you shoot long-form POV regularly. If you only pull the GO Ultra out occasionally, a cheap power bank and a basic mount will cover you for a lot less.
The Verdict
Recommended. The FOMO Power Kit does what it promises, and it does it well. Eight hours of hands-free POV shooting removes the biggest constraint on the GO Ultra, and the Flexi Mount is a genuinely thoughtful design rather than filler in the bundle.
The lack of weather resistance and the white-only color are legitimate gripes, and the price will make some people hesitate. But if you shoot POV content regularly, this accessory unlocks what the GO Ultra is actually capable of. Just keep an eye on the forecast.
